Risk temperature explained: how the bot sizes every trade
What the risk temperature setting in Arrissa REX 9 AI means, how it turns your balance into lot sizes, and why a lower setting is the right place to start.
Most trading bots ask you to pick a lot size. That is backwards: a lot size means nothing until you know how far the account could fall with it. Arrissa REX 9 AI starts from the other end. You choose how deep a dip you are willing to sit through, and the bot works out the lots.
What the number means
The risk temperature is a percentage of your balance. It is the deepest fall from a previous high, counting trades that are still open and checked minute by minute, that the lot sizes were built for in the backtest. The scale runs from 5% to 40%:
- 5% to 10%: low. Smaller trades, smaller dips, smaller results.
- 15% to 20%: medium. The default is 15%.
- 25% to 30%: high.
- 35% to 40%: very high. Bigger trades, deeper dips.
From balance to lots
Before every trade the bot reads your current balance, multiplies it by the risk temperature and looks up the lot for each market in a table built from the backtest. A $10,000 account at 15% has $1,500 of room, so its lots are ten times those of a $1,000 account at the same setting. As the balance grows or shrinks, the lots follow.
Why small accounts trade fewer markets
Every broker has a minimum lot. On a small balance some markets would need a lot below that minimum, so the bot trades only the markets it can size correctly. If your settings cannot trade at all, the bot adjusts them automatically, for example by switching money recovery off, and tells you in the chat. Your own settings come back as soon as the balance allows.
The risk temperature comes from past data. A future losing run can be deeper than anything in the backtest.

Where to start
Start low. Watch the demo account and your first weeks of live trading, then decide whether a higher setting suits you. You can change the risk temperature in the app at any time; it applies to the next trade.
Risk warning. Trading leveraged products such as CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Backtest figures are simulations, not real results, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Read the risk disclosure before you connect an account. Nothing here is financial advice.
