Why a news filter matters for automated trading
How the economic calendar decides which days Arrissa REX 9 AI trades, why it skips quiet days, and what the news filter can and cannot do.
The strategy behind Arrissa REX 9 AI trades breakouts: a move away from a range that has formed during a quiet part of the day. Breakouts need a reason to happen. Scheduled economic news is one of the most reliable reasons.
What the news filter does
Each market has its own rule. A session only trades on days when a relevant scheduled release, from the right currency and of enough importance, falls inside a window around the entry time. On other days that session is skipped. The calendar is checked automatically and refreshed through the day.
What you see in the app
The Upcoming screen shows only the sessions that will trade, so you can see the next trade and a countdown to it. Sessions skipped by the news filter are not shown.
What it cannot do
- It cannot know about news that is announced late. A speech added to the calendar after the session started cannot change that session.
- It does not make a trade safe. News days move more, in both directions.
- The rules were chosen using the same history that the backtest shows, so their real effect may be smaller.
Start the bot, watch your free $10,000 demo trade, and connect your Exness account when you are ready.
If you want to see the effect for yourself, the backtest in the app runs with the news filter on, exactly as the bot trades.
Risk warning. Trading leveraged products such as CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Backtest figures are simulations, not real results, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Read the risk disclosure before you connect an account. Nothing here is financial advice.
